Ingredients and Materials

Medical-grade polyurethane catheter (18 gauge), stainless-steel introducer needle, polypropylene hub, silicone or hydrophilic-coated catheter tip where applicable. Sterile, latex-free, pyrogen-free. Single-use disposable IV cannula packaged in protective sterile blister.

How to Use

1. Confirm patient identity and indication for IV access. Check package integrity and expiry.
2. Perform hand hygiene and apply appropriate personal protective equipment.
3. Apply tourniquet, select suitable vein, and disinfect insertion site per protocol.
4. Insert needle with catheter over needle device into vein until blood flashback is seen; advance catheter into vein and withdraw needle safely.
5. Secure catheter with sterile dressing, connect IV line or cap, and label with insertion time and date. Monitor for patency and complications.
6. Dispose of used needle and device in an approved sharps container and follow local waste disposal regulations.
