Description
Akacia Airway Guedel Size 1 (White) — 1 Unit
The Akacia Guedel Airway Size 1 is a pediatric oropharyngeal airway designed to maintain airway patency in neonates and small infants during resuscitation, anesthesia and emergency care. Made from medical-grade, latex-free PVC, this single-use, disposable airway helps prevent tongue obstruction and improves ventilation efficiency for clinicians and first responders.
Key Benefits
- Designed specifically for neonates and small infants (suitable for newborn to small infant use, approx. up to 5 kg).
- Single-use, disposable design reduces cross-contamination risk in emergency and clinical settings.
- Medical-grade, latex-free PVC construction for reliable performance and patient safety.
- White color for easy visual identification and inventory management.
- Simple insertion and removal — compatible with BVM ventilation, suctioning and airway management protocols.
Ingredients and Materials
Manufactured from medical-grade polyvinyl chloride (PVC). Latex-free and non-sterile. Single-use disposable device. Radiolucency may vary by batch; check packaging for product specifications.
How to Use
1. Confirm indication: only use in unconscious patients without intact gag reflex. Select correct size by measuring from the corner of the mouth to the angle of the jaw (or follow local protocol).
2. Lubricate the posterior surface if necessary. Insert the airway with the curved tip pointing up toward the roof of the mouth, then rotate 180° so the tip seats in the oropharynx — or use the technique recommended in your local clinical guidelines.
3. Ensure the flange rests at the lips and that the airway maintains patency. Use alongside bag-valve-mask (BVM) ventilation or other airway management tools as needed.
4. Remove immediately if the patient gags, vomits, or if airway patency is compromised.
Who It’s For
Healthcare professionals including anesthesiologists, emergency medical technicians (EMTs), paramedics, pediatric nurses, neonatal resuscitation teams, and clinics requiring pediatric airway management tools. Ideal for hospitals, ambulances, surgical suites, and emergency response kits.
Caution & Storage
Caution: For single patient use only. Not recommended for conscious patients or those with an intact gag reflex. Monitor for airway obstruction or complications. Inspect packaging before use; do not use if packaging is damaged. Dispose of in accordance with local clinical waste regulations.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Keep in original packaging until use to maintain cleanliness.
